Unlimited gas production? Incessant farting involuntarily? Well.. there’s no need to shy away from going out or feeling embarrassed anymore..
Flatulence is the accumulation of gas in the stomach and intestines. Some causes are a lack of an enzyme lactase which is necessary for digestion and assimilation of milk and swallowing of air due to anxiety. Excess of milk can cause flatulence in people who are lactose intolerant.
Certain foods tend to cause a formation of gas and eating them regularly causes this problem. A heavy usage of laxatives and antacids can also cause the production of gas. It is the gas produced by bacteria that gives the characteristic odour when expelled. REMEDIAL MEASURES FOR FLATULENCE:
1.) Add a drop of fennel oil or a drop of lavender oil to a spoon of sugar and eat it twice a day after meals.
2.) Fry a teaspoon of ajwain in olive oil and mix it with 2 tablespoons of warm cooked unpolished rice. Add a pinch of salt and eat before main meals for 3 days.
3.) It is better to eat cooked vegetables than raw ones.
4.) Season the food with asafoetida.
5.) If cooking vegetables and in particular rajma, black and white chana or lobia or any dry seed belonging to the beans family, soak them overnight and using fresh water, cook them for a few minutes and throw the water again and continue cooking with fresh water with a pinch of turmeric powder. This helps to prevent gas formation.
6.) Chew a few cardamom seeds after each meal to get relief.
7.) Eat ripe papaya before meals.
8.) Boil a teaspoon of ginger juice and sugar in a cup of water and make a syrup. Add saffron, cardamom, nutmeg and clove bud. Take a teaspoon of it after meals.
9.) A decoction of coriander with sugar gives relief.
10.) Starchy foods and fruits are eaten together produce gas. This worsens if it is followed by coffee. Oatmeal together with fruit juice also produces a lot of gas.
